You are surrounded

Dear child of God, right now you may feel surrounded by bad news, uncertainty and fear. Just like Elisha’s servant, you see danger all around. And that scares you.

The king of Syria had surrounded the city of Dothan in an attempt to capture the prophet Elisha. When Elisha’s servant awoke the next morning, and saw the horses and chariots around the city, he cried out to Elisha in fear. But, Elisha did not panic…

"Don't be afraid!" Elisha told him. "For there are more on our side than on theirs!" Then Elisha prayed, "O LORD, open his eyes and let him see!" The LORD opened the young man's eyes, and when he looked up, he saw that the hillside around Elisha was filled with horses and chariots of fire. - 2Kings 6:16-17 NLT

When God had opened the spiritual eyes of Elisha’s servant, he could see that Syria’s horses and chariots were greatly outnumbered by those of the angels surrounding them. In fact, the hillside was filled with angels! Elisha was right - they had more on their side.

Just like Elisha, I want to tell you, don’t be afraid. You are surrounded by more than what you can see:

You are also surrounded by God’s angels

The angel of the LORD encamps all around those who fear Him, And delivers them. - Ps 34:7 NKJV

You are surrounded by God’s favor

For You, O LORD, will bless the righteous; With favor You will surround him as [with] a shield. - Ps 5:12 NKJV

You are surrounded by songs of deliverance

You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance. – Ps 32:7 NIV

You are surrounded by God’s unfailing love

Many are the woes of the wicked, but the LORD's unfailing love surrounds the one who trusts in him. - Ps 32:10 NIV

You are surrounded by God

You hem me in behind and before, and you lay your hand upon me. - Ps 139:5 NIV

Don’t be afraid. You have God on your side. You can trust in Him.

God bless

Madeleine
