This is a short post just to let you know... God is already in the New Year.  He’s busy cleaning the road ahead of you, making it straight. He is putting up signs and points men to guide you along and to make sure you stay on track. He’s got great things planned for you. And, best of all, He is going to walk with you, holding your hand, helping you up if you stumble. Here are a few verses from the Bible to assure you of God’s presence in the year ahead and every year that follows. Read them. Meditate on them. Make them your own. Strengthen yourself in the Lord. They are promises from the heart of your loving Father to you. Yes you!  He knows you by name. He is the God who sees you. Have a blessed 2019! Madeleine

How unforgiveness will steal, kill and destroy

Image
Why did Jesus teach us to forgive? Jesus told Peter to forgive not only seven times, but seventy times seven (Mat. 18:21-22) In Mark 11:25 we read: “And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.”   (Also read Mat. 6:14, Luke 6:37, Col. 3:13, Mat. 18:35)   It seems so harsh, that we will not be forgiven unless we forgive, but once you realize the damage caused by not forgiving you will understand why it is a sin. The psychological implications of unforgiveness are quite complex. This is just a basic breakdown of three things that normally happen:            First of all, you pass a judgement . You will say, for example: “He is a very bad person!” or “all men are unreliable!” Your judgement is based

A mouth full of holy words

Never ever underestimate the power of words. Think about it, what has caused the fall of mankind? Words did. Twisted, deceitful words spoken by the father of all lies to Eve. And ever since that day, he’s been twisting tongues, setting them alight from hell. Sharpening them like arrows with a drop of poison added to their tips (James 3:6) David knew this well, because he wrote : “Their tongues sting like a snake; the venom of a viper drips from their lips.” And also: “They sharpen their tongues like swords and aim their bitter words like arrows.” “Their mouths are full of cursing, lies, and threats. Trouble and evil are on the tips of their tongues.”   (Ps. 140:3, Ps. 64:3, Ps. 10:7) That’s why we, as Christians, need holy mouths. Because, God’s words are different. With his Word life was created, light and all that is good. When his Word became flesh He healed the sick, casted out demons and calmed the storm. All with his words. The words that He has spoken are
